The Archbishop has announced the following retirements, changes and appointments which affect various parishes in the Archdiocese.
- Canon William McGinley has retired as parish priest of Saint Patrick’s, Old Kilpatrick.
- Father Gerard Hill will retire as parish priest of Saint Vincent de Paul, Thornliebank, in September.
- Father Michael Woodford will retire as parish priest of Saint Gabriel’s, Merrylee, in September.
- Father Augustine Abayomi has offered his resignation as parish priest of Corpus Christi, Knightswood, and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Broomhill, with effect from September, and is leaving the Archdiocese.
- Father Aidan Martin has been appointed as parish priest of Saint Patrick’s, Old Kilpatrick, in addition to his current appointment in Saint Stephen’s, Dalmuir.
- Father Gerard Byrne has been appointed as parish priest of Saint Vincent de Paul, Thornliebank, with effect from September.
- Monsignor Hugh Canon Bradley VG has been appointed as parish priest of Saint Gabriel’s, Merrylee, with effect from September, to be assisted by Father Lukose Kannimel.
- Father Allan Cameron has been appointed as parish priest of Holy Cross, Crosshill, and Saint Brigid’s, Toryglen, with effect from September.
- Father Ezra Dauda has been appointed as Administrator of Saint Gregory’s, Wyndford, and Rector of Saint Charles’ Oratory, with effect from September.
- Father Andrew McGowan has been appointed as parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Broomhill, and of Saint Brendan’s, Yoker, in addition to his current appointment in Saint Paul’s, Whiteinch, with effect from September.
- Father Paul Milarvie has been appointed as parish priest of Corpus Christ, Knightswood, in addition to his current appointment in Saint Ninian’s, Knightswood, with effect from September.
- Father Joseph Sullivan has been appointed as parish priest of Saint Barnabas, Shettleston, with effect from September.
- Father Chukwuemeka Vincent Livinus SMMM has been appointed as parish priest of Saint Margaret Mary’s and of Saint Bartholomew’s parishes, Castlemilk, with effect from September, to be assisted by Father Richard Kenechukwu Anigbogu SMMM.
The Archbishop would like to thank those retiring, or leaving the Archdiocese, for their many years of devoted service and to thank those moving to new parishes, or taking on additional parishes, for their generous response to the invitation to serve the People of God in new places.
